paint and paperIt seems David
Oliver’s entire career has led up to this book. The so-
called “Prince of Paint” is both the founder and design
director of London’s interior design and decorating
store, the Paint and Paper Library—not too shabby a
title for a professional working in a royalty-obsessed
nation. Oliver cultivated his aptitude for working
with light as a photographer’s assistant, and his color
infatuation ignited while studying art and managing
galleries. In his first publication, Oliver, a self-
described color addict, guides the reader to overcome
what he calls “paint analysis paralysis,” a condition
of homeowners completely overwhelmed by their
wall- covering choices. Oliver seeks to remedy the
panic with his extensive knowledge and his passion
for paint and wallpaper.
