"To Truly BE STyliSh, you hAvE To hAvE your o Wn STylE,"
Stan Topol declares. And this Atlanta-based
tastemaker, revered interior designer and protégé
of the legendary Billy Baldwin is known for evoking
the extraordinary.
For his latest endeavor, Topol arranged a
transitional and seamlessly soft modern marriage of
classic and contemporary influences that defy the
conventional. With project coordinator Cindy Kirland
and construction detail and lighting associate Doyle
Garland, he embarked on a venture that reflects

unite with the smooth surface of precious antique
porcelains. Stately embroidered damask drapes
caress lustrous ebony-finished floors. A stunning
succession of inviting rooms—drenched in a clean

by bold, jet-black accents—maintains a serene
yet intoxicating flow throughout the home. A once
lovely but generic space was transformed into a
masterpiece.
Armed with the couple’s exquisite collection
of furniture and art, the designer embarked on a
process of editing and reinventing each element for
their new home. “We had to recover and reevaluate
the existing collection and bring it back into their
life,” he says.
Topol began by weaving in fresh finds and
rearranging existing pieces to reflect the couple’s
