and in with the new? Not if you are one of the Parisian
designers profiled by editor Angelika Taschen and
writer Ian Phillips in New Paris Interiors. In a release
coinciding with the 14th anniversary reissue of Paris
Interiors, the classic design book that sparked the entire
Taschen Interiors series, this second visit to the City of
Light does not seek to eclipse its predecessor. Rather,
it seeks to build on the legacy of such revered French
designers as Jean Prouvé and Charlotte Perriand, each
featured in the original. “The marvelous thing about
Paris,” writes Taschen, “is that despite globalization
the city radiates its very own charm… and succeeds
in remaining incomparable and romantic….people
here work not against, but with tradition.”
