No doubt many greenlight celebratory
lunches have taken place in the
posh eateries near the production
studios, museums and nightclubs that
line LA’s Miracle Mile: a culturally rich
stretch of Wilshire Boulevard on the
fashionable Westside.
But just off the strip, on a quiet tree-
lined street where squirrels scamper
across pristinely manicured lawns, artist,
designer and voice-over actress Janna
Levenstein celebrates her own successful
project: the renovation of a 1950s-era
home she shares with her standard
poodle, Georgia. With airy spaces and
lush landscaping, Levenstein’s home is an
oasis of tranquility in the urban metropolis
just shy of Hollywood’s shadow. the house
even had its fifteen minutes of fame as the
residence of troubled couple, Carolyn
and palek, in the Hbo series Tell Me You
Love Me.
But the house was not always so
extraordinary.
“It looked like someone ran through
Home Depot with a $100,000 gift card,
grabbed what they could and used it to
renovate,” Levenstein says of its previous
