"The design was inspired by modern kitchens that are fully
exposed to the surrounding living area," says designer Troy
Adams of Studio Becker's Portofino kitchen. "There are no
upper cabinets obstructing the view. The architectural blocks
delineate the space, with all the functional equipment very
neatly organized. Electrical appliances such as the coffeemaker,
microwave and toaster are hidden within the concealed elevator
system, which retracts into the countertop, leaving open space
and no clutter."
