a decidedly modern ilk. the seven bedroom home is
located on a narrow, gently sloping site within the
Voelklip, a nature preserve teeming with flora and fauna.
the house has pride of place in a golden corridor of
Hermanus, an up-and-coming hamlet near Cape town,
south Africa.
“We wanted a relaxed feeling beach house, but not in
the normal Cape Cod style,” say the clients, who along
with their two grown sons intend to return periodically
to Hermanus for holidays, weekend jaunts and much
needed down time. “We can appreciate all styles of
homes but find it easier to live in clean-lined spaces, as
we are not ones for clutter.”
