His ethereal Rivera retreat serves
not only as a home away from home,
when hes working on villas in nearby St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat—
the crown jewel of the French Riviera—but also as the place
where he meets clients to fashion their dreams. Because of
the dual vision, ˝everything was studied to create the most
comfort, and there is a place for every object—a place in
the cupboard for the toaster, a drawer to put the bread, a
hook for my towel, ˝ he says.
The first level opens to the living and dining space anchored
with pieces that boast several personalities, including a
petite banquette that can be used as a sofa for visiting
guests, antique Lebanese chairs and fauteuils that create
a sophisticated atmosphere for a tête-à-tête and a glass-topped table with a double life as a desk. Karam designed
the oak unit to resemble a sideboard so that ˝if a client
interiors
comes in, he doesnt feel he is at my home, but in my office.˝
