CHEF ORIOL BALAGUER spent seven years as the pastry chef at El
Bulli in Spain and opened his own pastry and confectioner´s shop
in 2002. His awards include: Best Pastry Chef in Spain (2008), Best
Gastronomy Shop in Madrid (2008), Best Pastry Chef in Catalona
(2003), Best Dessert in the World (2001), The 8 Textures of Chocolate,
awarded Best Pastry Book in the World (2000) and many others.
ABIGAIL R. ESMAN is an award-winning freelance writer based in
New York and Amsterdam, the Netherlands, with over 20 years
experience writing for Salon.com, Vogue, Esquire (Holland), Town &
Country, Art & Auction (where she is a contributing editor), Artnews
and others. Her articles and essays about art and design have
appeared in virtually every major art magazine.
CAMERON SHAW is a writer and critic based in Brooklyn, New York.
She has written for ArtForum.com, BOMB, ArtinAmericaMagazine.
com, and Germany´s SZ-Magazine. She has also published essays,
poetry and short fiction in catalogues and books on Marcel Dzama,
Chris Ofili and other artists. She was recently awarded a grant
from the Creative Capital | Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant
Program for her arts writing.
JULIE TARASKA is a New York-based freelance journalist and editor
who thanks the Sex Pistols for her career. After winning a fellowship
to study British punk she moved to London and began writing
professionally. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times,
Men’s Vogue, Metropolis, Interior Design, and icon.
ERIKA HEET spent many years at Architectural Digest as a senior
editor, several years as senior art & antiques editor for Robb Report
and Editor-in-Chief of The Robb Report Collection. As a contributing
writer for Dwell.com, contributing editor for 1stdibs.com, Erica
has written for Bon Appétit, and the foreword for the upcoming
monograph on architect Shay Zak´s Hawaii houses.
ANGELIKA TASCHEN is the Editor at Taschen. She studied art history
and German literature in Heidelberg, gaining her doctorate in 1986.
Working for Taschen since 1987, she has published numerous titles
on the themes of architecture, photography, design, contemporary
art, interiors, and travel.
SAXON HENRY, a journalist with a passion for design and
architecture, has written for Architectural Digest Germany, The
New York Times, Elle Décor India, Interior Design and is a regular
contributor to Robb Report Vacation Homes. Saxon is author of Four
Florida Moderns, editor of DesignCommotion.com, and a guest
blogger for Decorati.com.
LAWRENCE LEVI is a co-author of The Film Snob´s Dictionary. His
articles have appeared in Vanity Fair, Modern Painters, the Los
Angeles Times, The New York Times, The Nation, The Village Voice,
and Artforum.
JEN RENZI a freelance writer based in New York City, was previously
a senior editor at House & Garden and Interior Design magazines.
